Now in their 3rd year, the Luongo Ukulele Experience is made up of 16 performers who come from the western United States, Nevada, and even Washington D.C. They are lead by an internationally recognized ukulele instructor, Peter Luongo. The ensemble is a performance-based adult ukulele group that is striving to be a group that models life-long learning, embraces challenges, continues to evolve as musicians and performers. They have toured and performed at festivals in Palm Springs, Reno, and Hawaii. They were featured on the community stage at the 2019 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, California.

Bio for Peter Luongo:
For over 30 years as director of the acclaimed Langley Ukulele Ensemble, Peter taught a comprehensive music education package which incorporated the ukulele as the tool through which students were taught the intricacies of melody, harmony, music theory, playing by ear, reading music and Choral singing. Under his tutelage, the Langley Ensemble became internationally renowned and received invitations to perform across Canada, throughout the United States, Japan, and for 25 years have performed annually at the Sheraton Waikiki Resort.
In 2008 Peter Luongos work as an educator and ukulele teacher in the small community of Langley, British Columbia (just east of Vancouver). His work was featured as the focal point of the award-winning documentary film, The Mighty Uke. Now his love of teaching and creating music with the ukulele is being shared with adults all over the world.
Peter leads The Luongo Ukulele Experience, a performance-based adult ukulele group that tours in America and has performed at the Palm Springs, Reno, and Hawaii International Ukulele Festivals, and at the 2019 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, California. He has developed a 4-session series offering The Maximum Ukulele Experience (www.maxuke.com). He continues to travel internationally as a workshop presenter at festivals throughout North America and Europe.
Bio for The Luongo Ukulele Experience Ensemble
Now in their 3rd year, the current ensemble is made up of 16 performers who come from the western United States, Nevada, and even Washington D.C. They travel to Reno, Nevada each month throughout the year to rehearse and with the assistance of on-line, video tutorials and a commitment to independent practice are striving to be a group that models life-long learning, embraces challenges, continues to evolve as musicians and performers.
Past accomplishments have included multiple appearances on the main stages of the Reno and Palm Springs Ukulele Festivals, an appearance at the 48th Annual Hawaiian International Ukulele Festival which was part of a 7-day, 10 concert tour of Honolulu.
This past January, the group was honored and grateful for the opportunity to be part of the 2019 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, California! The ensemble will be touring the West Coast U.S. with concert stops in Oregon and Washington State.
